Kingston’s standard Secure Digital (SD) memory cards combine massive storage capacity, blazing data transfer rates and ironclad security in a memory card no bigger than a postage stamp. Kingston’s SD cards are ideal expansion option for the smallest of devices including MP3 players, digital cameras, PDAs, smartphones and more. For added reliability and durability, the solid-state SD memory cards are built of non-volatile memory components and have no moving parts. Quickly and easily download and transfer digital files between various digital devices, a computer and the Internet. User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star Misleading 60 cent add
All the way through to the final click this item is being shown as being purchased for 60 cents. When you get to the final window, after entering all your credit card info., it is full price, the same as if you bought it on the Kingston site. Very disappointed in this ad and the time I took to go that far.

5 Stars Nice!
It arrived in a good condition. Works well

One more thing I like about Amazon:

When I bought a memory card on ebay for Sony Cybershot W150, they sent me a Chinese product. I have bought 2 SD Cards on Amazon so far, 4gb and 8gb, and both of them are Japanese products. If I need one more, I’ll definitely go to Amazon.com! :)

5 Stars Awesome
Got it at a GREAT price, fast shipping, put it in my camera and works fine.

4 Stars Perfect for its job
I know bigger cards are available, but I have several older devices (Wii, digital camera) which don’t play well with higher capacity SDHC cards, and for those devices these inexpensive cards are great. The only reason for not giving the fifth star is that these do not include a case - but then again you get what you pay for, and for $6 I can’t complain too much.

4 Stars Lots of capacity, great price
I use it with my Canon A590 camera. It’s reliable, too. One caveat, however, I recently bought a used San Disk universal card reader, which will not recognize this card at all. (It has no problem with my 1 and 2 GB cards. I think the problem is that this is a SD card and the reader isn’t equipped for that.

Pioneer AVIC F700BT In Dash Navigation Audio Receiver with CD Playback and Advanced Voice Controls

April 5, 2009 by DigiBliss · Leave a Comment

The Pioneer AVIC-F700BT car stereo marries solid entertainment capabilities with advanced navigation. Its flash-based GPS system comes pre-loaded TeleAtlas maps of the US and Canada, featuring more than 12 million points of interest and robust user routing options. Built-in Bluetooth allows you to make hands-free calls on compatible devices, and Pioneer’s voice-recognition software lets you use voice commands to control your phone or iPod (with separate iPod adapter). Hugely expandable, with options for iPod connectivity, MSN Direct, HD radio, XM and SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and more, the AVIC-F700BT also includes a USB interface for quick connection to iPod music players, portable media players and USB memory device. Additionally, SD memory card support means you can insert cards filled with additional Points of Interest or compressed audio and video for your use and enjoyment. Link all your devices together into one seamless experience.

5.8-inch Widescreen LCD
The AVIC-F700BT features a 5.8-inch widescreen color LCD with WVGA (800 x 480) resolution, perfect for navigation via GPS, or simply navigating your audio files.

A New Class of Navigation
No more hassling with map discs. Now you don’t have to worry about discs being misplaced, damaged, lost, or stolen because we’ve done away with them for the F-Series navigation line. Pioneer has taken the entire TeleAtlas Database that was previously on the two-DVD set, compressed it down, and stored it internally on flash memory.

  • Touch panel key operation–It is possible to operate the navigation and audio functions by using the touch panel key.
  • 2D and 3D map view modes–Various types of screen displays can be selected for navigation guidance
  • A variety of Points of Interest (POI) information–More than 100 types of POI categories are included in the database. You also can create your own customized POIs and categories.
  • Auto reroute function–If you deviate from the set route, the system will re-calculate the route from that point so that you remain on track to the destination.

Freedom of Speech
The AVIC-F700BT offers a new generation of voice recognition capability for controlling iPod* playback and making calls hands-free via connected Bluetooth-enabled cell phones. The technology accepts and recognizes conversational phrases and language, filters out superfluous sounds and phrases, and if the user doesn’t give enough information in the command, the unit will ask additional questions to clarify the request.

In Touch, Hands-Free
The AVIC-F700BT comes with built-in Bluetooth. Now you never need to miss a call, even if your tunes are cranked up or your phone is buried in your bag.

Mobile Media
Pioneer has created a line of Navigation systems that make it easy to play various digital and audio formats like: CD-R/RW discs, Portable Media Players like iPod, USB memory devices, and SD Cards. The AVIC-F700BT can play a wide range of files types as well, such as MP3, WMA, iTunes AAC, and MPEG-4 video files.

Make it Personal
Personalize your drive. AVIC FEEDS freeware contains POI Creator, Driving Report, and Picture Editor Applications. You never know where the road will take you, but our POI Creator can help you get started on the right path.

Blending In
Like its predecessor, the AVIC-D3, the new AVIC-F700BT allows you to change the illumination color to match your car. Select from among 32,768 different colors to match car interior and dashboard lighting.

Seeing Is Believing
The old WQVGA displays that most Navigation units use are 480 x 234 pixels. However, the WVGA display is much higher quality at 800 x 480 pixels. Images become sharper and more defined, just like our maps and menus on these units. The display’s enhanced GUI (Graphic User Interface) has also advanced, making system control and management effortless.

iPod Control Made Simple
With the new CD-IU230V cable, you can directly control your music and videos from your iPod. Fast and easy control through USB, the AVIC-F700BT also features iPod Album Art display, Alphabetical Speed Search, and much more.

AM/FM Radio
Always have your favorite stations at hand with 18 FM and 6 AM user presets.

Best Stations Memory
Setting your radio presets can be a real pain while you’re driving–especially if you’re in an unfamiliar area. So, let the tuner do the work for you by activating the Best Stations Memory (BSM) function. The tuner will seek out the six strongest stations in the area and set them into the tuner presets.

Adding Another Set of Eyes
For safer parking, try using the ND-BC2 or ND-BC20PA backup cameras. The system automatically displays images shot from a connected camera as the vehicle shifts into reverse.

AUX-In Connection
Use the built-in AUX input for connecting any portable digital player or other external auxiliary devices. For extra-convenient access, the AVIC-F700BT has this input on the front panel.

What’s in the Box
Pioneer AVIC-F700BT, wiring harness, installation hardware, operation manual, installation guide, warranty sheet

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars I regret buying this unit
I bought the 700BT a couple of weeks ago (two units actually) and there are still a host of bugs with it. For example, the Sirius and HD preset lists don’t change to the name of the channel–the just say “Preset 1, Preset 2,…”

[...] and check out the radio BEFORE you buy. Pioneer Tech Support was rude and unresponsive when I called. Very disappointing.

4 Stars AVIC-F700BT - So Far…SO GOOD.
Debated between AVIC700 and 900 and ultimately decided on AVIC-F700BT. I have about 17 movies already on my IPOD (gotta love MP4 and Digital Copy) and did NOT want to carry around ANY DVD’s in my collection due to bad memories of damaged CD’s. Also didnt need MSN Direct. So W/ AVIC700BT being $200 cheaper (on Amazon) than 900 - 700 was clear winner. Self-Installed entire new sound system in my 01 Maxima starting w/ AVIC700. Lucked out and found a double-din dash kit locally that completely matched my Maxima interior. Fit n’Finish is good: A- grade. Only mod done was Parking break HARDWARE mod (didn’t want to brick this using any shady software mod). This thing is cool! It has bugs yes (some very annoying) but overall FABULOUS product for price.

POSITIVES:

1.MOVIE PLAYBACK IS AWESOME THRU IPOD & AVIC! Sound and picture darn good for being in the vehicle! Matrix Reloaded, Mr&Mrs Smith, Vanilla Sky all looked and sounded great on 5.8″ screen and system.

2.Runs on Windows for doing MODs!

3.The Voice recognition works better than expected. Recognizes most artists I request: Play artist…Metallica, Alice In Chains (funny hearing the female voice saying this back), Slayer, Green Day, Ice Cube, heck even Hootie & The Blowfish requested and played successfully!

4. EQ in the unit is great. Also has Loudness and Source Level Adjust for tweaking music to perfect - got rid of some vehicle rattles and speaker distortion by fine tuning the AVIC.

5. Bluetooth works surprisingly good. Some callers say it sounds better than motorola bluetooth earpiece! Sound on my end is so/so. Still experimenting with this B/T and phone contacts transfer. Touchscreen dialpad very cool!

6.GPS works pretty good but haven’t used it on a road trip or to find a needed location yet. Played around and it got me to my offc ok.

7. Music search using touchscreen is FASSST! Find what you want in seconds using the touch screen without going thru entire IPOD library (previously used Sony CDXGT-610UI and Pioneer Pioneer DEH-P4000).

8. On future road trips I’m gonna connect a PS2 slim thru the front AUX port and using RCA to 3.5mm jack and play video games on the screen(fiance driving of course).

NEGATIVES:

1. What’s up w/ the having to disconnect/reconnect IPOD everytime I start the vehicle? This to ME is the most annoying. Searched AVIC411.com for a solution - didn’t find anything. Once in awhile there’s no problem but usually I have to disconnect and reconnect IPOD.

2. NO REMOTE!!!!!! I’ve used both wireless remote and steering controls and wireless remote hands down best option for convenience and safety. Better than steering wheel control in my opinion. I’ve had to get used to touching the screen to do anything. Researched all over online and couldn’t find a wireless remote I could use with AVIC700. Relegated to using the PAC SWI-PS & steering controls for BASIC functions: volume&track search - it’s “aight”.

3. Start up time I doesn’t really bother me so not a big issue. I always just pray for a blessed trip during this “moment of silence” anyway.

The bugs are minor and for the price - it’s a fantastic unit! Brand new, incl 1yr warranty for [...] Shipping thru Amazon/BarneysElectronics - CAN’T BEAT THAT WITH A STICK!!

01 Maxima SE, AVICF700BT, Pionner 6.75(front)/5.25(rear) components, 10″ Kicker Comp Sub in sealed enclosure(trunk), 2 Sony 600W 4Ch amps, Dynamat trunk kit. Self-Installed all for about [...] for all incl all parts, hardware, amp wiring kits.

4 Stars Great Unit more than satisfied.
I recently got this installed with the iPod cable and steering wheel controls. I’m very satisfied with this unit. Everything works well, GPS is nice and accurate. I do have the 2.0 firmware update.

I have an 80GB iPod classic that works very well. Video quality is above average not great, but i don’t see myself watching many videos on this unit.

The only complaint is the long boot time. It does take about 30-45 seconds to be fully functional, it takes some getting used to. The music does play right away though.

4 out of 5.

4 Stars Good Unit w/ Alot of Features
Good Unit w/ alot of features but still some quirks. Mine arrived w/ the necessary 2.0 update but I still notice alot of quirks and nuances that could still be fixed. It is a MUST to perfom the bypass in order to enable some of the features, check [...] for more info and ppl discussing this unit. I have mine running to an Amp, and one thing I am not too happy about is the low 2Volts pre-outs. I have to crank my amp gains to 60-75% to get the volume I want. I’m still tweaking around trying to get it just how I want, but it’s been fun so far.

2 Stars Not what I expected from Pioneer
I have had nothing but problems with this unit,I have this unit in each of my cars,I first bought the Avic 700 for my Infiniti, after the second day the bluetooth stopped working, after about one hour on the phone with Pioneer I had to replaced the unit,I bought from Amazon so they sent me another unit with no problems. Now for the second car I was happy with the Avic 700 until one day it just stopped working now this unit has to be replaced too.Pioneer customer service is terrible.I just want my factory radios reinstalled, this is way too much trouble,I feel very bad that I own two of these units,I could kick myself.I will never buy a Pioneer product again. If you decide to buy this unit be sure to check the return policy, chances are you will need to send it back.Good luck.

4 Stars Wow
How cheap can these things get. It holds more than 16 times as much as the hard drive in my first computer bought in 1994. Incredible! Great price at Amazon. Buy 2 at least. I put lots of pictures and video from my last vacation on them. No problems at all.

2 Stars limited functionality on older equipment
This 8GB card works only in a new EeePC. It does not work in an older HP Pavilion notebook PC or in a Samsung 6.0 Megapixel digital camera. I had hoped to be able to use it to transfer data between my notebooks but it will not :-(

5 Stars Transcend 4gb flash memory
Big saving and at least 50% discount compare to BestBuy, Frys.

Great memory. One of the best deal in Amazon.

5 Stars No complaints
Purchased card for use in Lumix FZ8 and so far no complaints. Good write/read time.

1 Star unreliable
I wont buy this again. it just stoped working for no good reason after almost 6 months working in my camera.

Garmin StreetPilot c340 3 5 Inch Portable GPS Navigator w US Canada and Puerto Rico Maps Factory Refurbished

March 28, 2009 by DigiBliss · Leave a Comment

This is a refurbished GPS. Refurbished generally means that the unit has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the navigator back to like new conditions. Some GPS may contain cosmetic blemishes.

If you’re looking for vehicle navigation that’s powerful and simple to use, the Garmin StreetPilot c340 is just the ticket. Right out of the box, this unit helps you make the right turns wherever your travels take you. With an easy-to-use touchscreen interface, text-to-speech voice commands, a brilliant display that shows the way with 2D or 3D animations, and a massive points of interest database, the c340 has all the basics covered. Plus, you’ll find some great additional features that make it a must-have companion.

Look Mom, no buttons! Garmin has taken simplicity to a new level with the c340.

The c340 is designed with simplicity in mind, although Garmin hasn’t forgotten to add a touch of class. With a weight of under ten ounces and a width of 4.4 inches, the c340 is ultracompact and easy to transport. To keep confusion on the road to a minimum, the only buttons are a rotary volume knob and an on/off switch. The bright 3.5-inch-diagonal display features a touchscreen, making it a snap to input routing information and make quick selections on the road. The c340 sports dual integrated speakers for high-quality voice prompts, a USB port for PC connectivity, and an internal lithium-ion battery that provides power when you’re planning your routes outside the car (approximately 4-8 hours battery life). In addition to an included 12-volt power adapter for in-car power, there’s also an SD memory card expansion slot for use with other Garmin MapSource mapping products. The unit is secured by a suction-mount cradle that fastens to the windshield, allowing for easy portability between vehicles. You can even customize the c340’s appearance with optional colored faceplates that suit your style. While the c340 has an internal GPS antenna, it also has an MCX-type connector for hooking up an optional external GPS antenna.

Finding your way with the c340 starts with inputting a location on the touch screen. Next, the unit’s text-to-speech feature speaks to you just like a back seat driver, telling you the names of streets and when to turn and in what direction. And if you happen to miss a turn–don’t worry, the c340 automatically calculates a new route to your destination. Audible and visual navigation instructions and warnings help you navigate more quickly while keeping your eyes on the road. You can also choose between a 3D mapping perspective or 2D overhead view.

The c340 offers clear, easy-to-read 3D directions.

Another time- and frustration-saving feature of the c340 is the database of preloaded maps and points of interest. Gone are the days of uploading partial maps from your computer to your GPS device: the c340 has them all built in. The unit comes preloaded with Garmin’s highly detailed City Select NT street data of the entire United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Finding points of interest along your route is made easy with the c340’s huge built-in database of nearly six million hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. Garmin has also made it easy for users to upload custom points of interest–now you can add school zones or safety cameras to your database. You can even turn on a proximity alert to notify you of upcoming custom points of interest.

Garmin really kicks the power of the c340 up a notch with the addition of real-time traffic information. This optional service will display congested areas on a color-coded map, allowing you to avoid traffic by simply pushing a button that calculates a new route. All this wizardry is made possible by the new Garmin GTM 10 receiver that connects to the c340 and other select Garmin products. Note that while the GTM 10 receives digital data from specific FM broadcast stations in select major metro areas throughout the United States and Europe, note that these traffic services are available only in select cities where coverage exists. The service requires the GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver and, in some cases, a subscription to enable these traffic capabilities.

What’s in the Box
StreetPilot c340 receiver with built-in antenna, dual internal speaker system for voice guidance and alerts, vehicle suction cup mount with 12-24 volt adapter, dashboard disk, USB interface cable, preloaded City Select North America NT database, and quick-reference guide.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars NOT GREAT BUT NOT TOO BAD
I just made my first long trip with my Street Pilot C340. I was very disappointed in it, to say the least. Made me wish that I had my Magellan Roadmate 500 back!

To begin with, the display is not bad as far as the map is concerned but the other info on the main screen is close to useless. After all, how useful is “time of arrival” on a trip that’s going to take more than one day? Not only isn’t the thing smart enough to figure in fuel stops, rest stops, and overnights; it’s not even smart enough to figure that the destination is in a different time zone. “Miles to destination” makes a lot more sense than “time of arrival”!

The voice prompts were not bad as to street name pronunciation but it was absolutely inadequate as to giving warnings far enough in advance for turns and announcing proper lanes. For example, at 70 MPH it gave me about .2 miles notice that I needed to make a left exit. In towns sometimes the first audio warning I had was just a matter of feet before the turn. I realize that if I had been looking at the screen when a route change was coming up I would have had more warning but I try to watch the road and not a screen. After all, that’s why I bought a GPS with voice prompts!

One other gripe! On routes with more than one name it seemed that the Garmin voice picked the most obscure name to speak: township rd 1500, state route 31, and U.S. route 40 may be all the same road but Garmin calls out twp road 1500, never mind that the signage is for 31 and 40!

Not a bad GPS but leaves a lot to be desired.

5 Stars Great price for pop’s day
This is my second one. Bought one in Oct and went to Chico Calif for Thanksgiving. My wife drove out with son and used it from finding lodging to resturants to historical sites. When wife picked me up from Sacramento airport, it was 5pm. half hour we were in Woodland and son asked if we can have chinese food. We stopped and looked at Garmin it told us thaere was one 1 mileaway so we followed directions and found the resturant.

With the second one, I found that using webupdate, I was able to load the latest version and fixes so it’s like it was brand new like the first one; only $70 cheaper. On the one we use in a New Beetle, the wind screen mount was not good (too far to reach from driver’s position) so I switched to the friction mount ($19 from Amazon). The refurbed one worked great on windshield mount.

5 Stars Works as advertised so far
I didn’t have a pressing need for a GPS, since I rarely drive in unfamiliar territory. But I decided to get one anyway because (1) I might have occasional use for it and (2) I was suffering from a severe case of gadget lust. Having used an entry-level GPS in a rental car once before, I wanted an affordable model with text-to-speech capability, one that would actually tell me the name of the next street to turn on, instead of saying “turn in 200 feet.” This Garmin seemed to fit the bill. But I still didn’t want to pay even discounted retail for it, so I shopped online for a refurbished unit and bought one from Amazon.com[...]. I’ve been very satisfied with the c340’s performance to date.

I find that it’s very easy to use; the touch-screen directions and menus are simple and intuitive. The directions are good. I’ve tried it out on routes I’m already familiar with and it has consistently guided me along the quickest routings to my destinations. In addition to the text-to-speech feature, I especially like this model’s estimated-time-of-arrival feature. Once you tell it where you want to go, it displays your ETA in a box in the lower-left-hand corner of the map-view screen. The estimated arrival time adjusts continuously through your trip, according to your progress. I’ve found it to be pretty accurate. I suppose this could be useful if you want to let someone else — like an anxious relative — know when to expect you.

My only gripe with the c340 so far is that the instructions that come with it, and even the downloadable online manual, don’t clearly explain how to charge its internal battery. When I first got my GPS from Amazon, I tried to turn it on, only to have it immediately turn off. It wouldn’t turn on again when I tried a second time. Following the minimalist instructions, I pried the face plate off and pressed a little reset button and tried to turn it on again, with the same frustrating result. Finally, after doing some online research, I figured out that I needed to plug the USB cable that came with the unit into my computer and charge the battery through it. This took about three hours, and the c340 has worked like a charm ever since.

Garmin does not provide an a/c charging adapter with the c340. If you want to be able to charge it from a wall outlet, you have to buy one separately. In normal use, the unit will charge while it’s plugged into your car, and supposedly is able to operate on its own for up to eight hours. But for times when the internal battery is low and there’s no computer handy, I think the a/c wall charger is a must.

Garmin provides a suction-cup windshield mount for this unit, but the manual notes that it’s illegal to use it in California, where I live. Fortunately, I got the dashboard friction mount as well.
