1 Star headphones suck
they took two weeks to arrive and when i got them one speaker was blown.

went on their site and couldn’t find any why to contact them. no point really they came from hong kong

1 Star FAKE!
These are not the real apple ear buds and should not be advertised as such! The quality is not very good and even though I only purchased them yesterday, they are already coming apart.

1 Star Wow…
It all started well over a year ago when I first bought my iPod, I recieved the shiny, white apple earbuds that came with it. Although they skimped on audio quality (big time), it made up for in comfort and looks. It was one of the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever worn, and after the 40th minute or so, you start feeling the discomfort, but with these, its less of it. They also feel great when pushed up against a pillow as I sleep with music on often. Basically, they feel and look great.

Yes, 14 monthes ago, the apple ear buds are probably one of the best, if not THE best pair of head phones I’ve ever used. But somewhere during the 10-11th month, they slowly started to break down. 4 months later, they have turned from breaking down to a pile of taped-together crap. It was time to get new ones.

I started carousing the site for ear buds, time after time I was led back to the trademark Apple ones for their known quality in design. Seeing as they were priced at 6.99USD I was thrilled and immediately ordered them.

That’s pretty much the end of my happiness, upon receiving my new pair of supposedly “Apple” ear buds, I instead receive this utter piece of foreign scum. They feel generic, cheap, and used. The grippy parts of the Apple ear buds are replaced by aged rubber thats long lost its friction. On top of that, these feel as if they were custom modifications of a shoddy mafia man working out of his garage with nothing but used earphones found in the trash coupled with decade-old piano wire wrapped in saran. They no longer carry the signature comfort of Apple’s ear buds, and their appearance was a half-hearted attempt at emulation. THIS PRODUCT IS a humiliation and a shame to Apple. (I doubt that such shoddiness would ever be approved by Apple, for that matter I doubt they are even aware that their name is being tarnished in such blatent poor taste and that the producers of this product, whom was most definitely NOT Apple Inc. is using it’s name to fool it’s customers into falsely relating this trash product to the quality that Apple is known for).

The point of this review is that for what I’ve gotten, from the vendor “MyGift,” at 6.99, should have been worth 3.99 for it’s relative lack of quality of which I expected from an Apple product (if it is indeed a legit Apple product). As a consumer I feel fooled into buying something I thought had quality, but ultimately didn’t. Also, as a consumer I feel obliged to watch out for my fellow consumers to not make the same mistake I did in falling for this riotous lie. Do not be fooled or enticed by the low price, as you end up getting less than what you paid for, as you should invest your money elsewhere.

While I cannot speak on behalf of the other vendors, I am certain MyGift is 100% NOT the place to go to buy Apple earbuds (as due to their piss-poor quality, it will start falling apart by next week, or maybe even month, if I’m lucky), nor would I suggest doing business with them for any other product.

MyGift: Either shape up your product or take the “Apple” out of the name, you’ve gone tarnishing their reputation for long enough.

1 Star Too good to be true, because they are.
Simply, these are not an OEM Apple product. I sadly found this out, after buying this item. They’re a knockoff, and you can tell as soon as you put them in your ear. The sound quality is lacking, but you get what you pay for.

4 Stars Exactly what I expected!!
I was a little hesitant to purchase a product from another seller, but since it was through this site, I risked it and am happy with my decision!!!

5 Stars Better than I Expected
I LOVE this device. I’ve had other MP3 players that cost twice as much and were no where near as good. The 4GB capacity is really all there and I have added 900 songs and still have over 200MB left.

5 Stars Very Satisfied
This is a great product for the price. Does what it says. Sound quality is excellent. The folder mode a bit inconvenient (no way to jump out of the folder without scrolling through all the files) but not a big deal if you keep your folders small. No mic (who needs it anyway). Ear buds that come with it are not great but totally OK (believe it or not I’ve bought worst buds for more than this player costs).

Good Job COBY!

3 Stars The battery life
It sucks. You have to buy batteries for it, but in 8 hours it’s completely wiped out. I bought it for a friend and she told me that was the only setback to this player. Overall it’s a great little MP3 player and the radio is a added plus, but your best bet is a set of rechargable batteries to compensate for it’s battery killing capabilities.

1 Star Too good to be true?
This seemed the perfect player for me: cheap, simple, plenty of memory, and a replaceable AAA battery so that I could use it continuously for days without the need for regular computer access to reload or recharge it, and it came with a large number of positive reviews from Amazon purchasers.

How did it work out? I can’t tell you, it was totally dead on arrival: no display, no pilot light, no radio, not recognized by my computer’s USB port — completely DOA. I emailed COBY technical support, asking for help, but they didn’t reply.

Amazon did reply immediately however, sending a pre-paid mailer so that I could return it for a refund.

Based on all the 4 and 5-star Amazon reviews, I might be tempted to order another COBY product, but why take the chance? It was just too good to be true, I guess!

PS The review editor insists that I must click on at least one star. In fact, this ought to be a zero star review.

1 Star Start good then flop
We were so excited by this product, it worked very well for a while and suddenly stopped working. I did not want to go through the hassle of getting it fixed because of the price I got it. I probably would have wasted a lot of time to get it fixed.

Conclusion: that was unfortunate but I would not by another one of the same type.

4 Stars iPhone 3g and iTouch with D650
I purchased this item for my 3G iPhone and when it arrived I could not get the audio to play through the S9-HD. What was odd was that the S9-HD track buttons would operate the tracks but the audio would only play through the iPhone’s speaker. After two calls to Motorola and one call to Apple, there answer was that 3G iPhone could not play audio through the D650 to the S9-HD headset. I thought this sounded like a crap answer so I started looking around the forums. After an hour or so I found a forum that suggested I call Motorola and tell them I had an iTouch and not the iPhone 3G. That was the trick. The Motorola Rep told me that Motorola had improved the software on the D650 and they would need to send me a new one. The new D650 arrived today and after pairing the headset and D650, the music sounds great through the S9-HD. I have now used the headset for a few phone calls and while the call quality is not great it is definitely respectable. One thing I dislike about the phone feature is that the audio is mono and not in both ears. As a few other reviews have noted, the battery is not replaceable and is estimated to be good for 400 charges.

4 Stars Motorola S9-HD Headset is awesome!
This headset is awesome. I use it with my Blackberry Storm and also my iPod Touch. I would recommend this to my friends. No more getting tangled up with my earbud cords on my treadmill or my eliptical trainer.

1 Star Warning
Motorola does not have the courage of Warning the millions of owners of the ITouch 2nd generation on the Motorola web site that this headphone is not compatible.

YOU WILL HAVE TO SEND IT BACK FOR CREDIT.

I also believe that Amazon should mention this on the description as a courtesy to avoid all the frustration of trying to get the headphone to communicate with the ITouch 2nd generation and to no avail.

Too bad, the unit looks good and very comfortable.

Shame on You Motorola and Apple for making this ITouch incompatible with all accessories that are not Apple designed…the first generation did

Dan

5 Stars Truely amazing sound
I bought these to replace a Motorola HT820 set of headphones. Amazing sound. I’ve paired these with my desktop, and they work great with the Toshiba BT stack. I mainly use them with my HTC Touch Pro Phone from Sprint. This combo with Mort player is worth the price. Makes those airplane trips much more enjoyable. Battery life is about half of my old set but the sound quality is better.

3 Stars Great headset, bad adapter
The headset works and sounds great however I had to contact Motorola support and get a replacement D-650 adapter as the one that shipped with the headset was an older model that Motorola confirmed would not work with my iPhone as it was advertsed to do. Motorola support was excellent and replaceed the unit at no cost immedaitely.

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars stopped working
Loved the product at first. Then less then a month after I started using it, it just stopped working. This had happened once before with a different sansa disk mp3. Now waiting to see if they will make good on their warrenty. No I didn’t abuse it at all and only used it as directed.

5 Stars awesome little wonder
So I was looking for an MP3 player that was nice and light because I use my phone to listen to music but its kinda big and it wears the battery down fast so… I was looking at the Ipod and saw the clip on one they offered but it was kind of pricy and was only 1 GB at the time.. then I found this little wonder, I read the reviewes and figured id give her a shot WOW was I impressed, so much so, that I got the silver version for my wife.. we both love em, they sound great, even with the ear buds they come with.. We did upgrade to better ear buds but i still use the stock ones from time to time.. An excellent buy and cheaper than Ipods version.

3 Stars my songs are gone
The sound quality, compactness and the lightness of the player are quite satisfying. The reason that I give a three star rating is that the songs I uploaded were gone twice without any reason. I had to upload them again and again not knowing what caused the problem.

2 Stars Needs improvement.
The Sansa Clip is a great mp3 player in theory. It’s small, lightweight to the point of being unnoticed, and has a clip. In fact, I quite enjoyed using mine while it lasted.

Only a few things:

1) It won’t sort by filename. I have a lot of music from way before tag info was big in the mp3 world. I do not have time to organize my tag data so that it shows up in proper order.

2) It organizes your music ‘automatically’ by the tag data and won’t let you organize it into folders yourself. The workaround they give you is to make m3u playlists on your computer and save them to the device. Forget that noise!

3)Now THIS is the killer. They did not include any kind of protection for the USB port, and now mine is broken, and I can’t ever change the music on it again. I’m not sure what happened to it, it doesn’t seem to have anything in it.In any case, it’s useless to me now.

Next time I shop mp3 players (if ever, since I guess my phone can do this now), I’ll be looking for something with a cover over the USB. If they fix that, and the file management issues, this would be a 5 star device.

5 Stars Fabulous Player - Well Worth the Money
I was wanting a MP3 player, but was not sold on spending the money for an IPod. I like the fact that this has an FM radio so I can listen to news or music. It is small, lightweight and the clip works well when you are at the gym, doing housework, hiking, etc. I really like the fact that you can download music from other sources other than ITunes. This was an excellent buy.
